Explore the Gunpowder Watershed Challenge
This September, we challenge you to spend time outdoors to support your local land trust and watershed non-profit, Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC)! (gunpowdervalleyconservancy.org). Discover the beauty of the Gunpowder Watershed of Baltimore County - our connection to the Chesapeake Bay.
The Explore the Gunpowder Watershed Challenge is a month-long virtual event from September 1 - 30, 2021. All participants will receive an event t-shirt and are encouraged to share their adventures on social media with #GVCExplore.
We are also encouraging participants to:
- Complete 45 miles of hiking, biking, horseback riding, paddling, etc. This is the length of the Gunpowder Watershed and a great symbolic goal. OR
- Raise $250 for the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy on your personal campaign page. Let your friends and family know you support clean water!
Participants that meet one or both of these goals will automatically be entered into a raffle for gift card prizes (details TBA).
NEW THIS YEAR: TEAM CHALLENGES! Bring on the friendly competition! Once you sign up as a participant, you can chose to form your own Fundraising Team or join an existing team.
We are encouraging Teams to:
- Complete 245 miles of hiking, biking, horseback riding, paddling, etc. OR
- Raise $750 for the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy on your personal campaign page.
Teams that meet one or both of these goals will automatically be entered into a raffle for a special group prize (details TBA).
